Natalie’s Cakes and More

Yesterday, I decided to stop into Natalie’s Cakes and More. She is located at 100 South Florissant Rd. I have been passing by her shop for weeks now and finally had time to check her out.

The front of the shop was adorned with balloons and pretty pink curtains and decorations. From the front door I could see a young woman decorating cupcakes and her smile was immediate and infectious when she heard the door open. Very warm and welcoming, the lady that come out front was Natalie herself.

Once inside, i looked to the right and noticed that there was a shelving unit with cake boxes and boards and individual slice containers. I immediately became excited. Since the closing of Fischer’s Cake and Candy Supplies about a month ago, it has been an effort to find some simple cake supplies. I asked Natalie if she sold those items and she brightly exclaimed, “Of course”! She went on to tell me that she sold those items as well as decorating tips and if need be some other items that can be selected out of the supplies catalog. If given enough time she can order pretty much anything.

She and I talked for well over 20 minutes. I purchased a chocolate cake slice with chocolate butter cream icing and a strawberry banana cake with strawberry filling and a mild banana butter cream. I made my purchase with a debit card and to my amazement, she did not require a minimum amount purchase in order to use my card. I was given a sample of her freshly made and very thirst quenching strawberry infused water to drink before i went on my way. I made sure I added my information to her mailing list.

Natalie does primarily custom cakes and cupcakes. Her specialty is decorations done with butter cream. The items I purchased were fresh and tasty. I look forward to trying some of her other creations in the future. Do yourself a favor and stop in to check her out.
